It fetches publicly accessible homepages plus standard public files such as robots.txt, llms.txt, ai.txt and humans.txt to detect technologies, site category, language and public business signals, a function the operator compares to BuiltWith and Wappalyzer. The collected data is published as a browsable website index and sold as B2B datasets and lead lists, and the documentation states it makes roughly one homepage request per domain at a low rate and honours a robots.txt block on the token PipericBot. The operator claims its crawl traffic comes from identified IPs with valid reverse DNS but publishes no IP ranges and no verification hostnames.
