Gettrbot

Gettrbot is attributed to GETTR, a social network, and by its name and request pattern appears to fetch pages so that links posted on the platform render a preview with a title, description and image. GETTR does not document this user agent in its help pages, its robots.txt or any developer material, and it publishes no IP ranges or reverse DNS hostnames for it. The token is also absent from the common third party crawler databases, so its stated purpose is inferred rather than confirmed by the operator.

How Centinel checks it

  • User agent: The request calls itself this crawler. Anyone can send the same string.

Gettrbot publishes nothing Centinel can check a source against, so a match reports the name and leaves the source unconfirmed. The match tokens, verification domains, and address feeds are not published here.

Allowing or blocking it

The crawler object in the /validate response sets access_allowed to true only for a verified source that your tenant allowlists. A policy rule can allow or block this crawler by its category, Preview.
